In a world often overshadowed by negativity and ingratitude, the life of Jesus Christ stands as a beacon of thankfulness and appreciation. Throughout the New Testament, we see vivid examples of how Jesus, the Son of God, consistently expressed gratitude to His Father in Heaven. This attitude of gratitude was not just an occasional display but a profound characteristic of His life and ministry.

One of the most poignant moments in Jesus' life was during the Last Supper, as narrated in Luke 22:19-20. Here, Jesus, on the eve of His crucifixion, took bread, gave thanks, and broke it, saying, "This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me." In this sacred moment, Jesus showed gratitude for His impending sacrifice, an act that would bring salvation to mankind. His thankful heart, even in the face of suffering, sets a profound example for us all.

Jesus' prayers often reflected His deep gratitude towards His Father. In John 11:41-42, before performing the miracle of raising Lazarus from the dead, Jesus prayed, "Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me." His acknowledgement of the Father's constant listening ear demonstrates a continuous and unwavering gratitude. This expression of thankfulness, especially in moments preceding miraculous events, teaches us the importance of recognizing divine assistance in our lives.

In Matthew 11:25, Jesus expresses gratitude for the revelation given to the humble, saying, "I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes." This instance highlights Jesus' appreciation for God’s wisdom in revealing truths to those with humble hearts. It underscores the value of spiritual insights and the blessings they bring, something Jesus continually acknowledged with gratitude.

The gratitude of Jesus Christ teaches us several key lessons:

1. Gratitude in Trials: Jesus showed us that gratitude is not circumstantial. His thankfulness during the Last Supper, amidst the knowledge of His impending crucifixion, is a powerful testament to this.
2. Constant Communication: Jesus' prayers were often laden with thanks, showing us the importance of recognizing and acknowledging God’s hand in every aspect of our lives.
3. Appreciating Divine Insights: Jesus’ gratitude for the revelation to the humble teaches us to value and be thankful for the spiritual knowledge and understanding we receive.

In emulating Christ's example, we are invited to cultivate a heart of gratitude, recognizing and appreciating the blessings and guidance we receive from our Heavenly Father. As we do so, we not only draw closer to the divine but also experience a more profound joy and contentment in our lives.
